The Challenge

When the pandemic hit, The Mom Economy had to find a solution to hosting their largest fundraiser under new restrictions. The Mother’s Mercado is an in-person event that showcases mother-owned businesses to help mompreneurs grow while reaching new audiences. But hosting an event like The Mother’s Mercado during stay-at-home and social distancing orders was impossible. When their team quickly decided that canceling wasn’t an option—they needed to go virtual. 
The Mom Economy wanted their event to be more than just a Zoom call. They wanted to make it interactive and immersive much like The Mother’s Mercado had been in the past.

The Solution

The Mom Economy came to Stage TEN to create a live, virtual event with integrated e-commerce to replace their traditional Mother’s Mercado in-person event. 
We provided them with an easy, affordable, fully customizable video production solution that fits within the budget of a not-for-profit organization. And Shop Mom Saturday was born. With integrated e-commerce, The Mom Economy was able to host a virtual event that could still directly benefit the mother-owned businesses they were showcasing while also giving their audience an experience that their attendees had never encountered before. Viewers were able to make a purchase with the click of a button—without ever having to leave the video or pause their live interactions.

The Results

The Mom Economy’s Shop Mom Saturday event brought in double the engagement and views of their previous virtual programming by allowing them to stream across multiple platforms simultaneously. During the event, there was a 447% increase in online store conversions and a 412% increase in online store sessions. They reached a completely new audience, with 82% of their customers being new.  
We have already partnered with The Mom Economy again to help with their Shop Small campaign—an initiative aimed at encouraging consumers to buy from small businesses.
