Our proprietary web-based studio allows creators, brands and media companies to easily produce shows, interact with audiences and exchange value with live video transactions. We are already leading the way for remote live video production, having partnered on productions for YouTube Originals, Atlantic Records, and Xbox with artists such as Cardi B and Justin Bieber.

Open positions

Back End Developer

We are seeking a Back End Developer with the desire to solve complex problems in the live video mixing and streaming space. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of major features for Stage TEN. This position reports directly to the CTO and will be part of a small, close-knit development team.

This position is full-time and Stage TEN offers a hybrid working environment. Our offices are located near Queen St, East and Carlaw Ave.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the team to clarify and refine requirements
  • Prepare code designs and generate development tasks to meet requirements
  • Work closely with other team members to implement high-quality solutions by writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code
  • Maintain and enhance existing software solutions
  • Take part in code reviews, discuss solutions, and support your team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
    • Experience with Ruby on Rails and/or GraphQL is a definite asset.
  • Experience developing and integrating systems using REST APIs and AMQP/RabbitMQ
    • Knowledge of YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and Twitter APIs is an asset.
  • Familiarity working with Docker, GCP,  and AWS
  • Experience working in GitHub and an understanding of issue management
  • Familiarity with the Shape Up process and experience with Agile or other processes
  • An easy communicator who is comfortable collaborating with others on the team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to ask questions when facing uncertainty.
  • Forthcoming in contributing opinions and open to great ideas from others.
  • Keeps up to date with new industry trends and technologies to help improve development operations

Lead QA Developer

We are seeking a Lead QA Developer with the desire to drive quality assurance at Stage TEN. This will involve designing and implementing automated tests as well as creating, leading, and performing manual test plans. You will also provide feedback on usability and product improvements. This position reports directly to the CTO and will be part of a small, close-knit development team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and set direction for quality assurance at Stage TEN
  • Collaborate with team members to clarify and refine testing requirements
  • Provide leadership and guidance for team members
  • Prepare designs and generate test scripts to meet requirements
  • Create and implement automated testing scripts as needed
  • Methodically exercise and verify services using REST API and GraphQL
  • Gather debugging information and enter issues to track errors
  • Assist with debugging when possible
  • Take part in code reviews, discuss solutions, and support your team members
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 3 years of quality assurance experience with proven leadership ability
  • Experience with Selenium, Robot Framework, JavaScript, REST APIs, and GraphQL
  • Experience with GitHub or Jira and a strong understanding of issue management
  • Familiarity working with Docker, Google Cloud Platform, and/or AWS is an asset
  • Strong automation and manual testing experience, along with extensive experience developing test cases and test plans
  • Familiarity with the Shape Up process and experience with Agile or other processes

Video Editor

Stage TEN’s Video Editor will work closely with our production team to refine some of the world's biggest shows in livestreaming today. You should be an avid storyteller with a versatile portfolio (work with corporate partners will be considered an asset) and the Adobe Suite should be your best friend.

Job Description
  • Work remotely with fast, reliable communications, with the flexibility of working on location if needed
  • Manage and oversee all technical aspects of editing process
  • Work with our creative teammates
  • Regularly collaborate with the marketing team
  • Follow the company's brand guidelines
  • Present to senior management
  • Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs
  • Inputting graphics to enhance footage
  • Improving and correcting lighting, coloring and faulty footage
Requirements
  • Degree or certificate in film/television production, media studies, or a field related discipline
  • 5 years of experience as a video specialist or similar role
  • Experience of using video and editing equipment
  • Proficient in editing software (such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X)
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects 
Qualifications

  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with story editorials
  • Knowledge and a good understanding of motion graphics is preferred
  • Ability to take and follow direction, while also having a creative eye for improvements

UX Designer

We are seeking a UX Designer with the desire to analyze complex tasks and turn them into intuitive and easy-to-use features for our live and interactive video production platform. From creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes, you’ll envision how people will experience our products and create a user experience that feels exciting, easy, and possibly even a little magical. You will work with product management, internal users, the development team, and the leadership team to create an effective user experience. This position reports directly to the Head of Product.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product managers, producers, developers, and the leadership team to understand requirements and provide creative, thoughtful solutions
  • Clearly communicate the user experience during various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high fidelity prototypes
  • Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates
  • Define and mock up user behaviors to build and deliver through the product experience
  • Create a design roadmap to improve the user experience in light of the user feedback and feature requests
  • Work with developers and marketing to ensure that the final product has usability, solves the user’s problem and offers a UX that integrates Stage TEN’s brand, colors and fonts
  • Document, build and improve the design system and work with the developers to ensure that the design elements being built follow the requisite design principles
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant industry experience in building UX and design for digital product experiences
  • Ability to lead and ideate features from scratch and improve upon existing features, with a user-centered design process
  • Experience designing using multiple tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Miro
  • Skilled in communicating and influencing product design strategy
  • Portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions
  • Familiarity with the Shape Up process or similar development processes
  • An understanding of streaming technologies; direct experience is an asset
  • An easy communicator who is comfortable collaborating with others on the team
