Stage TEN is a rapidly growing tech start-up based in Toronto, pioneering live and interactive video technology designed for the next wave of digital creators. More than 200,000 creators, brands and media companies around the world use Stage TEN - and we’re just getting started.

Our proprietary web-based studio allows creators, brands and media companies to easily produce shows, interact with audiences and exchange value with live video transactions. We are already leading the way for remote live video production, having partnered on productions for YouTube Originals, Atlantic Records, and Xbox with artists such as Cardi B and Justin Bieber.

Open positions

Product Manager

We are seeking a Product Manager with the desire to own the direction of our live and interactive video production platform. You will work with the development team, UX designers, and the leadership team to create effective solutions that drive us towards our business objectives, are valuable for our customers, and both usable and feasible. This position reports directly to the CEO.

This position is full-time and, due to COVID-19, is fully remote for the time being. The Stage TEN offices are currently closed, but located near Queen St. East and Carlaw Ave.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the entire product life cycle including collaborating on product prioritization  and strategy, managing the product roadmap and execution, and leading go-to-market activities
  • Translate business goals into actionable, time based planning to inform feature prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Act as the customer advocate -- conduct market research, speak with customers and potential customers. Clearly communicate those needs to all stakeholders
  • Prepare and present prioritization recommendations for executive review and sign off
  • Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to understand the  business case and ensure that our highest value customer satisfaction goals are met
  • Be the market expert -- understand the reason customers use our products
  • Stay on top of current and emerging competitors to understand how Stage TEN can leverage trends to further differentiate ourselves in the market
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data, reviewing costs, and anticipating volume; assist with costing enterprise proposals
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role, with at least 3 years experience in product management
  • Experience developing and launching software products in a Shape Up or Agile environment
  • Familiarity with the Shape Up process; has opinions on how to improve the process
  • Strong understanding of streaming technologies; direct experience is an asset
  • Ability to create a positive and productive atmosphere in an environment with competing priorities
  • An easy communicator who is comfortable collaborating with others on the team; forthcoming in contributing opinions and open to great ideas from others.
  • You are ambitious and daring while being realistic and practical
  • You understand nothing is impossible but not everything is possible at once
  • Keeps up to date with new industry trends and technologies to help improve Product Management operations

Back End Developer

We are seeking a Back End Developer with the desire to solve complex problems in the live video mixing and streaming space. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of major features for Stage TEN. This position reports directly to the CTO and will be part of a small, close-knit development team.

This position is full-time and, due to COVID-19, is fully remote for the time being. The Stage TEN offices are currently closed, but located near Queen St. East and Carlaw Ave.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the team to clarify and refine requirements
  • Prepare code designs and generate development tasks to meet requirements
  • Work closely with other team members to implement high-quality solutions by writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code
  • Maintain and enhance existing software solutions
  • Take part in code reviews, discuss solutions, and support your team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience with Ruby on Rails and GraphQL.
    • Experience with js and JavaScript/TypeScript is a definite asset.
  • Experience developing and integrating systems using REST APIs and AMQP/RabbitMQ
    • Knowledge of YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and Twitter APIs is an asset.
  • Familiarity working with Docker, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience working in GitHub and an understanding of issue management
  • Familiarity with the Shape Up process and experience with Agile or other processes
  • An easy communicator who is comfortable collaborating with others on the team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to ask questions when facing uncertainty.
  • Forthcoming in contributing opinions and open to great ideas from others.
  • Keeps up to date with new industry trends and technologies to help improve development operations
